 Studio Nu is solving the need for greater flexibility and convenience in the hair dressing business specifically catering to our African African & mixed cultural families. Its mission is to supplement the traditional Hair Salon Industry by providing customers with on demand natural hair care services in an Uber-like model. Customers can request hair care services anywhere, anytime from any device. Interested Hair care professionals review and accept these requests anywhere, anytime from any device. Services are delivered in the comfort of the customer’s home, office, hotel, senior homes, etc. 

 I have been continuously braiding & growing hair for over 20 years with various freestyle braiding designed styles. I have always been fascinated with styling & growing my hair, family, and friends without the use of chemicals. So I began using natural handmade moisturizing products my grandmother used to make and natural braiding styles that allowed hair to rest from chemical applications, caring for the hair/scalp, and gently installing various protective hair styles.

Maggie Smith is a second-generation hair stylist, having started as a shampoo girl for her grandmother at the family salon in Chicago. She has a formal education in natural hair care, hair product formulation and training professionally at La' James International in Iowa. In 2015 Maggie opened her first mobile salon Studio Nu, in Atlanta and launched J. Lee in 2020, a full range hair care line designed to address the needs of women of color with various hair textures.
Maggie has earned the reputation as an expert in natural hair growth, freestyle hair design braids, protective styling and color.
